India Tourist Trends 2010

Author: LeadZoomer

With Lonely Planet announcing that India is one of the best value destinations in 2010 and Delhi hosting the prestigious Commonwealth games in October, India epitomizes one of the most preferred tourist destinations in the world. The prospect of the massive inflow of international tourists who will come to India during the period is expected to provide the Indian tourism and hospitality industry and its allied sectors an opportunity to promote lesser-known tourist destinations within the country.

Incredible India – The name says it all

India as a country offers unique, diverse experiences to tourists, with each of its states having its own specific traditions, culture, and cuisine. The Indian Government is doing all it can to project the country as a clean, green, safe and friendly destination, easily accessible by world-class transport systems. Opening of airports in newer towns across the country and better highway connectivity has also ensured that India offers umpteen options for a refreshing holiday.

Holidays in the sun are the latest trend to overcome the freeze of the current cold conditions the world over. India offers a tropical climate and the right geographic mix of culture and heritage, adventure, beaches, pilgrimage centers, mountain resorts, spas and ayurveda to captivate all types of tourists.

Value for money will be the most important factor in holidaymakers' decisions when it comes to travel. Currency exchange rates play a major part when choosing a destination. Low travel costs to India along with favorable exchange rates and also since it’s easy on the purse gives travelers an exotic holiday that they’ll always cherish.

October Bonanza

Around 30,000 new hotel rooms are being built in Delhi in time for the Commonwealth Games which is expected to attract up to 100,000 people. Other cities are also hoping to cash in on this influx of tourists to the country. Since the Commonwealth Games are to be held in October, tourists to the country can make the most of the festive season that begins in India from October and lasts till January. They can optimize their tour experience by participating in the colorful, lively celebrations of Indian festivals and observe the traditions and lifestyle of people from close.

When in India, it is recommended that visitors looking to escape from the chaotic urban environment should take a trip to a more relaxed city like Pune. A large number of business as well as leisure travelers visit Maharashtra, particularly, Mumbai and Pune. The state is dotted with temples and monuments and a scenic coast line, making it a tourist’s delight. Mumbai, the financial capital of the country, gets its fair share of tourists thanks to good air, road and rail connectivity. Pune in particular with its pleasant climate and close proximity to hill stations such as Mahabaleshwar and Lonavla is an interesting city offering a mix of the modern with the old.

The shortage of hotels in the country is now a thing of the past. A new phase of growth has ensured that there are plenty of hotels catering to the needs of both business and leisure travelers. In Pune Hotel Studio Estique, offers perfect accommodation options both to the domestic and international business travelers & for family trips. Centrally located with well designed rooms, backed by complimentary internet usage and international cuisine, this hotel in Pune is great value for money. Next door is a shopping complex with a Multiplex.

Travels in Alaska - John Muir

Take a trip to last century's Alaska through Muir's clean, easy-going, enthusiastic prose. He wrote the way he took pictures, with insight, attention, care and genuine feeling. It's a lovely look into a beautiful land and its inhabitants the way it used to be, told in a flowing narrative that is far less rushed than contemporary travel tales.
