There are two options that you can choose from when you are going on a tour. You can either go on a group tour or a private tour. A group tour is when you join a group of people, and you leave at a set time and go to organized places. A private tour is custom designed for you, your wants, needs and desires. Both tours have their own advantages and disadvantages, so you will have to see what is most important for you, and what you can do without.

One major advantage of private tours is that you are able to custom design your entire stay. You are able to choose where you would like to go and what you would like to see. All the decisions are up to you. If you are on a group tour, you have a previously decided schedule that can't be changed. With a private tour, the trip will be more flexible and relaxing, because you won't have to worry about any one else. You will get your own privacy and comfort. You can make spontaneous changes that won't cause any inconveniences to others. You would be able to make leisurely stops for shopping, sightseeing, eating or taking pictures. The downside of private tours is that they are a little more expensive. Obviously, an upgrade in your private services comes with a slight upgrade in cost. This extra money will pay for the private transportation, your personal driver and the coordinator's additional effort to accommodate all of your personal plans.

The primary benefit of group tours is the reduced cost. It is cheaper than a private tour because the entire group of people will divide the expenses for transportation and guides. Another advantage is that you will get to meet new people on the bus, tours or at your hotel. Doing it with new people might make it more fun than doing it by your self. One of the leading disadvantages of a group tour is the inability to make your own decisions. You will not be able to choose the places that you will visit, and there is a very rigid schedule. You can't choose your own accommodations or stopping places. You must be at the bus at a certain time, eat lunch at a certain time, arrive at a certain time and leave at a certain time. The choices of everyone will affect you, and your personal trip. However, if you happen to get an agreeable group, it could prove to be quite memorable.

Your verdict can be made depending on whether your privacy is more important to you, or your budget is more important to you. If you don't mind paying extra for a personal custom designed tour, then it will probably be more comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable for you. A group tour is better suited for the more exploratory people that don't want to deal with the planning part of a tour. They are able to take a cheap, premade trip. Both types of tours are thoroughly enjoyable, despite their differences, and are certainly worth taking.
